Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing to join our leadership team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the nursing operations within our facility, ensuring the highest level of care for our residents. The DON will collaborate with staff, families, and the management team to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, improve quality care, and foster a culture of excellence in clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff, ensuring that care practices align with facility policies, regulations, and industry standards.
Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of individualized care plans for residents.
Ensure that nursing services comply with all federal, state, and local regulations, including Minnesota State Department of Health requirements.
Manage staffing levels, scheduling, and recruitment of nursing personnel to meet the needs of residents.
Monitor and improve the quality of care through regular assessments, audits, and quality improvement initiatives.
Coordinate and lead staff training, ensuring staff competency in caring for residents with varying levels of need, including memory care.
Serve as a liaison between residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams, fostering strong communication and satisfaction.
Participate in admissions, care conferences, and family meetings as needed.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, and ensure all nursing documentation is timely and accurate.
Promote a positive, supportive environment that encourages staff retention and job satisfaction.
Qualifications:
Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Minnesota required.
A minimum of 3 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a management or leadership role in an assisted living, memory care, or skilled nursing facility.
Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations regarding assisted living and memory care services.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse nursing team.
Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care plans effectively.
A passion for working with the elderly and a commitment to improving their quality of life.
Registered Nurse License with 2 years long term care experience.
