Emergency Services Director

Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Emergency Services Director to lead our Emergency Department. This role is responsible for ensuring high-quality patient care, overseeing departmental operations, and driving service growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and resolve real/potential problems affecting the service.
- Actively participate in service, departmental, and hospital-wide committees.
- Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
- Coach and provide feedback to subordinates, facilitating individual development plans.
- Adhere to Human Resource policies and effectively communicate departmental information.
- Foster evidence-based employee engagement practices and build strong relationships to achieve organizational goals.
- Participate in employee and patient rounding, mentoring potential future leaders.
- Enforce standards of emergency department care and develop processes to ensure compliance.
- Develop and evaluate an ongoing emergency services program to assure quality patient care.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policies.
- Oversee a PI program that monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
- Ensure operational excellence in the department.
- Seek new program strategies and enhancements to expand patient services.
- Develop and defend capital equipment requests.
- Manage the fiscal aspects of the department, ensuring proper utilization of financial resources.
- Advance the growth agenda for emergency services.
- Develop and build strategic external networks.
- Demonstrate a poised and confident demeanor that reassures others and commands respect within the organization and community.

Reports to CNO

Must be able to handle pressure and a fast-paced unit.
Must be able to hold staff accountable.
Must be clinically competent to assist staff.
Comfortable in a smaller facility and wearing multiple hats.
Experience with behavioral health population and increased hold times.

- Bachelor's degree in Nursing required.
- Master's degree in MHA, MSN, MBA, or related field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in emergency services required.
- 3+ years of experience in a leadership role preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Will consider 3-5 years of ER Manager experience in an acute care setting.
- Current registered professional nurse license in the state required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
