Several Nurse Educators needed to work in Medical Surgical/Telemetry, Critical Care and Emergency Department. These positions are 13+ weeks with the potential to go perm. Monday - Friday hours 7a-3:30p MUST be flexible to start earlier and work later.
As the Registered Nurse Clinical Educator, you will function as a clinical leader and provide staff development for our nurses and surgical technologists. Additionally, the Nurse Educator will have the ability to impact change, evaluate educational programs and provide mentorship, all while actively engaging in patient care to maintain clinical competence. This is an exciting position and key clinical role, providing leadership, staff support and interdisciplinary collaboration to ensure that standards of quality care are achieved on a consistent basis.
Qualifications:
• Participates in the development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting, and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in the development, coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, and evaluating competency.
• Work with fellow Educators to plan, implement and evaluate nursing orientation process.
• Designs and identifies educational activities to address practice gaps for identified target audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcare personnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical education request and development processes.
• Develops activities to achieve specific outcomes related to identified deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice. Plans educational content delivery that encourages learner engagement.
• Conducts, encourages, facilitates, and/or participates in research, EBP, and QI in patient care settings.
• Identifies and develops strategies to facilitate a continuous process of maturation through lifelong learning.
• Utilizes novice-to-expert continuum when developing staff. Identifies and provides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.
• Conduct in-service education, continuing education, and competencies.
Requirements:
• Minimum five (5) years of Medical Surgical; Critical Care or Emergency experience; applicable teaching and clinical experience.
• NYS RN license required.
• BS degree in Nursing required, Masters degree in Nursing preferred.
• Certification in specialty area preferred.
• American Heart Association certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS) required.
