OUR MISSION
The Family Place empowers survivors of family violence by providing safe housing, counseling, and skills that create independence while building community engagement and advocating for social change to stop family violence.
Step into a meaningful career as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with our passionate non-profit clinic! Join a team dedicated to empowering victims of domestic violence and their families. In this role, you'll provide hands-on care in a compassionate environment, making a real difference in the health and healing journey of those we serve.
Primary Responsibilities:
-Provide nursing care, including health assessments, medication administration, wound care, and basic health education
-Assist with age-appropriate care, including growth assessments, immunizations, and treatment for minor illnesses.
-Maintain accurate and confidential patient records within our EMR system, adhering to HIPAA standards.
-Coordinate care with counselors, social workers, and other healthcare team members to meet the holistic needs of patients.
-Help maintain a safe, organized clinic environment and assist with inventory and equipment maintenance.
Required Qualifications:
-2 years minimum of clinical experience, preferably with vulnerable or diverse populations.
-Basic knowledge of direct patient care, health assessments, and documentation.
-Compassionate and respectful approach to individuals affected by domestic violence.
-Effective communication skills with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary team.
-Familiarity with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
-Current and valid LVN Texas State or Compact license. Graduation from an accredited vocational nursing program.
Working Environment:
-Full-time position may include occasional evenings or weekends based on agency, shelter, and/or client requirements.
