**Shift Timings: 7am to 6:30pm. 3.5 days per week**
Lakeside Villa, an Assisted Living Facility is seeking a skilled and compassionate Cook to join our culinary team. The Cook will play a crucial role in preparing and serving nutritious meals that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of our senior residents. This position requires a passion for cooking, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety in a caring environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Meal Preparation:
Prepare meals according to planned menus, ensuring they are nutritious, delicious, and visually appealing.
Customize meals to accommodate special dietary requirements, including texture-modified and therapeutic diets.
Food Safety and Sanitation:
Follow strict food safety protocols and sanitation guidelines to uphold a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
Monitor food temperatures and maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the Kitchen Manager and kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service efficiently.
Assist with inventory management, stock rotation, and ordering of food supplies as needed.
Quality Assurance:
Uphold rigorous standards of food quality, portion control, and presentation.
Conduct regular taste tests and inspections to ensure meals meet our high standards and resident satisfaction.
Customer Service:
Interact with residents in a respectful and courteous manner, addressing their preferences and dietary concerns promptly and effectively.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety guidelines, and nutrition.
Ability to follow recipes and menus, adjusting for dietary needs and portion sizes as required.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Compassionate attitude and genuine interest in serving senior residents.
Education and Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent.
ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety training preferred.
