Job Title: Experienced PET Tech – Cancer Center (GE Equipment, Nuclear Medicine Experience Required)

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced PET Technologist for a cancer center specializing in adult and geriatric patients. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of PET experience, with proficiency in GE equipment. This position involves performing Nuclear Medicine (NM) and PET procedures under the direct supervision of a Board-Certified Radiologist, ensuring radiation safety, and providing safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct patient assessments related to NM and PET procedures.
Perform and assist with preparation of radiopharmaceuticals and scanning procedures for both in-patients and out-patients.
Promote radiation safety during patient care.
Collaborate with pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams.
Perform EPIC documentation and communicate via SBAR.
Handle isolation precautions as needed.
Maintain and manage peripheral IVs.
Ensure proper storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials.
Certifications & Requirements:

Required:
BLS (Basic Life Support)
CNMT (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) or NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board)
IL State License (Illinois)
Graduate of a Nuclear Medicine Program
Skills/Experience Required:

Minimum 3 years of PET experience in an adult/hospital setting.
Proficiency with GE Equipment.
Experience with HIDA Scans, PET scans, and Isolation precautions.
Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs.
Knowledge of storing, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials.
Preferred Skills/Experience:

Experience with Siemens equipment.
Knowledge of Gastric Emptying, Muga Scan, Bone Scan (3 Phase, Limited, Whole Body), Liver Imaging, and SPECT (Bone, Brain).
Additional Information:

Average daily census of 15-18 patients across 3 rooms.
Scrubs required (any color, no patterns/logos; not provided).
1st time travelers are welcome.
Job Type: Contract

Pay: $80.00 - $85.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
