Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a hybrid inpatient/outpatient role. This role is primarily focused on oncology-based cases, particularly head/neck oncology (tracheostomy care and laryngectomy care). The unit has a moderate pace, which may fluctuate. The role involves performing Modified Barium Swallow Studies and conducting assessments and treatments for cognitive, language, speech, voice, and swallowing disorders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Tracheostomy care
Laryngectomy care
Modified barium swallow study (MBS)
Cognitive, language, speech, and voice assessment and treatment
Bedside swallow evaluation
Patient and family education
Point of service documentation
Reassessments and discharge evaluations
Required Experience:
2 years of experience as an SLP in a clinical setting (5 years preferred)
First-time travelers are welcome
~80-hour orientation with ~72 hours on the floor
Experience with:
Dysarthria
Dysphagia
Tracheostomy
Voice disorders
Modified barium swallow studies (MBS)
Bedside swallow evaluations
Interpreting MBS
Patient/family education
Required Certifications:
BLS (AHA only, no HeartCode)
State SLP License (in hand preferred, but pending is acceptable)

Trach/Vent experience
BAE (Boston Aphasia Evaluation)
WAB (Western Aphasia Battery)
Medicare/Medicaid
SLP Evaluation Coding
