The Director of Nursing (VNPN) leads and manages the Vocational Nursing/Practical Nursing programs to maintain high educational standards, compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, positive student outcomes, and efficient operation of all activities of the department. This role requires strong leadership skills to oversee program development, faculty management, and student success initiatives.
Licenses / Certifications
Licensure - Current unencumbered RN license to practice professional nursing in the state of CA
Education / Experience
Master's Degree in Nursing
Experience - 4 years practical experience as an RN; Minimum of 2 years teaching in a pre- or post - licensure accredited nursing
Course work in nursing, education, or administration
Experience with nursing accreditation processes and compliance requirements
Expertise in adult education, including teaching methodologies, curriculum development, and curriculum evaluation
Skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with students, faculty, and external partners
Skilled in conflict resolution and problem-solving to address challenges effectively
Strong analytical and decision-making skills to support program objectives
