Assistant Director of Nursing

Position Overview:

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will play a pivotal role in overseeing and supporting the nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. This position involves collaboration with the Director of Nursing and other healthcare professionals to maintain operational excellence, compliance with regulations, and the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership: Assist the Director of Nursing in supervising and mentoring nursing staff, including RNs, LPNs, and home health aides. Provide clinical guidance and support to ensure best practices and adherence to care plans.

Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, including conducting regular audits, reviewing patient outcomes, and implementing improvements as needed. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and agency policies.

Care Coordination: Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers to address concerns and optimize care delivery.

Training and Development: Assist in the recruitment, orientation, and ongoing education of nursing staff. Provide training on clinical skills, care protocols, and agency procedures to enhance team performance and patient care.

Administrative Support: Help manage daily operations, including scheduling, documentation, and resource allocation. Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to improve operational efficiency and patient outcomes.

Patient Advocacy: Ensure that patients receive compassionate and respectful care, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively. Advocate for patient needs and preferences in all aspects of care.
