We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Acute NP Care team. Nurse to implement specific plan of care for designated group of patients. Assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care. The ideal candidate will provide Acute Care Inpatient, all adult medicine patients. This person will be working as a provider with the balance of the team to include MDs, managing direct patient care to include medications, ordering meds, diagnostic tests which includes labs/imaging etc in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This position is Monday-Friday 830a-5p.
Job Responsibility:
• Assess patients’ health status, determine coping mechanism, elicit perception of medical/nursing care and the expectation of care, identify cultural and ethnic requirements.
• Efficiently managing patient with EVD, multiple medication drips, use of Hemospher Flotrac.
• Identifies patient’s outcome, develop criteria for measurement of patient outcomes, identify actual and potential patient problems.
• Efficient in managing trauma patients of different severities.
• Familiar with the care pleurevac chest tube drainage and the use of PCA pump.
• Interpret and implement treatment regimen as prescribed by the physician, assist physician during treatment and/or diagnostic procedures.
• Perform grade I-IV Decubitus Care perform preventive skin care measures.
• Administer medications correctly and safely, educate patients and family to drug and food interactions.
• Participate in patient and family education.
• Follow the SOP and Critical Care practice of the faculty.
Job Qualification:
• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
• Valid NYS Registered Professional Nurse License
• 1-3 years critical care or intensive care experience
• AHA, BCLS, ACLS, PALS required
• Proficiency in medication administration and suture techniques
• Acute Care
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and in high-stress situations
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
