JAC is assisting a local community-based hospital seeking to hire RNs for their Med Surg Unit. The facility is 110 beds with affiliation to a larger health system. The opportunity offers 12-hour shifts, 36 hours a week.
The hospital is located in stunning western KY just a short drive to Kentucky Lake to the east, the Ohio River to the north, and the Mississippi River to the west. In this region, there is always something for all ages, whether it is outdoor sports and recreation, visual and dramatic arts, or even living history.
Minimum Education
Associate’s degree Required
Bachelor’s degree Preferred
Certifications:
· Basic Life Support (BLS) may be obtained within 45 days of hire.
Licenses:
· Current license as an RN in the state of KY or compact state.
*New Graduates may work under a KY provisional license for up to 6 months with the expectation that an RN license will be obtained within the first 6 months of employment.
Required Skills
· Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatments.
· Plans and documents patient care given.
· Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
· Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
· Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial needs.
· Evaluate the learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
· Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
