We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Labor and Delivery to provide exceptional care in a dynamic healthcare environment. This role is ideal for RNs looking for travel RN contracts in California while advancing their careers in Labor and Delivery nursing. As a Labor and Delivery nurse, you will have the opportunity to work in diverse settings, gaining valuable experience in managing a range of birth volumes from under 100 to over 300 births annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, maintaining a patient ratio of 1:2.
Perform vaginal exams, assess and monitor fetal health, and provide expert care during labor and delivery.
Ensure optimal outcomes for mothers and infants by providing exceptional baby care and educating patients and families through the prenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum stages.
Administer medications and treatments per established protocols, following best practices in Labor and Delivery nursing.
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care and address the unique needs of each patient.

Required Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Labor and Delivery nursing.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS).
AWHONN Advanced.
NRP Advanced (must include all 11 components).
Advanced Fetal Monitoring (AFM).
Skills: Proficiency in vaginal exams, baby care, and experience managing a range of birth volumes from under 100 to over 300 births annually.
Preferred Qualifications:
High-risk obstetrics (OB) experience is strongly preferred.
Previous experience in travel RN contracts is advantageous.
