The Program Director develops, implements, updates and promotes the RN-BSN Nursing program. The Director assists the AVP of Health Professions Programs in the supervision and assessment of faculty members; initiates, recommends, and coordinates courses, and instructors for the RN-BSN program; assists with planning and coordination of adjunct faculty orientation. Ensures program meets all requirements of the accreditation agency and federal/state requirements. Incumbent reports to the AVP of Health Professions Programs. Teaches wherever and whenever assigned as determined by instructional needs including branch centers and College off-site locations as necessary. The Director serves as a supervisor, leader, mentor, and role model to students and personnel in the RN-BSN Program. The Director is responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of RN-BSN curriculum as well as maintaining program accreditation. Collaborates with LSSC governing agencies to promote positive outcomes for the program, college, and community.

Provide instructional administrative oversight to the RN-BSN Nursing program.
Teach up to 9 credits per semester.
Ensure rigor and integrity in all learning activities.
Plan, develop, and help lead nursing programs in accordance with the educational philosophy of the college and applicable state/federal requirements.
Ensure the RN-BSN program meets accreditation standards.
Develop and implement business/marketing and student recruitment plans for current and future needs of the RN-BSN program.
Track data trends related to program outcomes, end of program student learning outcomes and completion rates as needed for accreditation.
Contribute to faculty learning initiative using innovating strategies relevant to nursing and nursing education.
Plan and carry out instructional duties, which maximize learning by students.
Supervise students in accordance with program procedures, academic, and course related concerns.
Function as a member of faculty committees in developing the instructional program and educational philosophy of the college.
Attend all scheduled meetings directed by the President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, or AVP of Health Professions unless excused by the administrator in charge.
Evaluate student progress and achievement with clear methods presented on course syllabus.
Utilize evaluation results for planning, instruction, counseling, and program modification.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records.
Submit grade reports and other required data on or before deadline dates.
Resolve discipline problems within sphere of responsibility.
Assist and counsel students as needed.
Establish course syllabus with competencies tied to a matrix for assessment, and curriculum and content area standards.
Establish learner tests or other assessments for demonstration of required program competencies.
Comply with appropriate administrative rules/regulations and Board Policy.
Participate in an annual evaluation process as specified by the college policy.
Attend graduation exercises.
Facilitate and participate in Nursing Advisory Committee activities.
Maintain continuity of communication with students, community, faculty, staff, and supervisors through timely replies to meeting, phone, mail, and email requests.
Perform other duties as assigned.
