Vice President of Nursing

Description

Department: Nursing Division

Reports to: Chief Medical Officer

Classification: Exempt-Executive

Employment: Full-Time, Onsite (Yakima Center)

Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

The Vice President of Nursing (VPN) leads nursing operations across various programs, ensuring high-quality, client-centered care. This role focuses on leadership, clinical oversight, staff development, client advocacy, budget management, and collaboration.

In this role you will:

Provide strategic direction and oversight of nursing policies and standards.

Collaborate with leadership to enhance patient outcomes and safety.

Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and evaluate clinical performance metrics.

Integrate evidence-based practices and new technologies in care delivery.

Foster professional growth through education and mentorship.

Work with HR on recruitment and performance evaluations.

Ensure client-centered services and advocate for client rights.

Develop individualized care plans and support recovery principles.

Manage the nursing department's budget and staffing levels for optimal care.

Act as a liaison among nursing staff, physicians, and administration.

Effectively communicate with all stakeholders.

Requirements

Holds a master's degree in nursing or related field (DNP preferred)

Current RN license in Washington State

10+ years nursing experience, including 5+ years in leadership within behavioral health

Is comfortable in a Clinical environment with exposure to diverse client conditions.

Able to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally

Able to travel 5% - 25% outside Yakima County.
