**GENERAL DUTIES**
The Clinical Manager oversees daily operations in the Telemetry Department, managing human resources effectively. This role involves investigating and resolving complaints from patients, visitors, staff, and physicians, and providing appropriate guidance to management. The Clinical Manager is adept at responding to changes in workload during crises and is responsible for helping employees navigate complex administrative decisions. Access to Patient Health Information is strictly for treatment purposes only.
**DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES:**
- Provide leadership to telemetry staff in the care of telemetry, stroke, bariatric patients, and related interventional cardiology protocols and medications.
- Gather and interpret information based on patient needs.
- Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development, understanding treatment requirements for various age groups.
- Participate in human resource management through staff assistance, evaluation, counseling, and hiring.
- Assist with and edit payroll reports.
- Ensure current job performance standards and competencies exist for all staff members.
- Complete performance evaluations timely for both annual and probationary assessments.
- Facilitate the accurate completion and prompt submission of HR documentation.
- Counsel and discipline staff appropriately and in a timely manner.
- Conduct interviews and hire staff.
- Coordinate timely attendance at hospital orientation and mandatory continuing education programs for employees.
- Attend nursing leadership meetings regularly, taking responsibility for the quality of nursing administration.
- Participate in and complete special projects.
- Ensure a current, comprehensive, and timely orientation for all new employees.
- Maintain accurate records for all employees regarding certifications, licenses, continuing education, and compliance with competencies.
- Foster open communication with staff on organizational and national healthcare issues.
- Promote effective staffing practices by optimizing human resource utilization in line with established benchmarks and acuity data.
- Utilize an individual patient classification system to predict nursing care requirements by shift, documenting trends in nursing care delivery.
- Assess and support staff development and cross-training as necessary.
- Support all hospital programs, including risk management, safety, and infection control.
- Manage scheduling and facilitate unit workflow and teamwork.
- Understand and assist with compliance regarding labor hour benchmarks per unit of service.
- Facilitate interdepartmental interactions and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills.
- Assist in maintaining current standards of care, policies, and procedures, ensuring they are reviewed with staff.
- Help review and revise policies and procedures as needed, at least every three years.
- Support the Director in achieving departmental long and short-term goals.
- Assist in monitoring supply costs to meet budget goals.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities through efficient labor and supply utilization and communicate suggestions to the Director.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge and expertise in the specialty field and relevant regulations.
- Assist in developing a strategic plan for the department and support the clinical and organizational strategic plans.
- Integrate performance improvement (PI) initiatives into daily operations and utilize PI philosophy in strategic direction.
- Collect data for unit-based improvements and ongoing quality assessments.
- Regularly obtain feedback from staff and collaborate with the Director on improvement strategies.
- Communicate concerns effectively and utilize problem-solving skills to propose solutions.
- Work cooperatively with all hospital staff, contributing positively to overall goals and objectives.
- Act as a collaborative team member within the department and organization.
- Build effective and positive relationships with patients, families, medical directors, physicians, management, and external agencies.
- Ensure timely follow-up on concerns from patients, families, staff, and physicians after consulting with the Director, and communicate outcomes.
**COMPENSATION**
- Base Salary: $100,000 to $160,000
- Full-time

**QUALIFICATIONS**
**Required:**
- $20K sign-on bonus
- California RN License (must be maintained)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience
- Demonstrated clinical competence and leadership skills
- Professional demeanor and presentation
- American Heart Association BLS and ACLS Certification (must be maintained)
- Successful completion of EKG test within the first 30 days of hire
- NIHSS Certification
**Preferred:**
- Previous management experience.
