Flight Nurse

Description

-Perform specialized functions, including complex assessments,
diagnoses, and emergency treatments for patients during air and
ground transports.
-Document detailed, accurate information related to patient
assessments, treatments, and transports.
-Record comprehensive and correct billing information for transported
patients.
-Facilitate effective communication with management and both internal
and external stakeholders.
-Engage in public relations and marketing support activities.
-Continue to develop expertise in flight nursing, attending mandatory
meetings, equipment reviews, skill labs, and clinical rotations.
-Complete all annual recurrent competency requirements.
-Maintain an active paramedic certification along with all other required
certifications.
-Operate under the supervision of the Medical Director and report
indirectly to the Manager of Clinical Services and the National Director
of Clinical Standards.
-Adhere to the regulations and scope of practice defined by the local
Department of Health Services.

Requirements

-Active RN license in the state of employment.
-Minimum of three years of critical care/emergency experience (five
years preferred).
-Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNATC, TNCC, ITLS, or PHTLS; NRP
preferred.
-Active paramedic certification and compliance with all required
certifications.
-Instructor certifications preferred.
-CFRN certification within 24 months of hire.
-Basic computer proficiency.
-Must maintain body weight below 235 lbs.
