JOB TITLE: RN

Position Summary

The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care to Patients, including medical intake screenings, treatment of acute and chronic conditions, emergency medical response, and clinical documentation. The RN performs all duties in full compliance with the contract, NCCHC, and applicable state regulations.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform initial medical intake screenings within 12 hours of detainee arrival.

· Conduct:

o Vital signs

o Health assessments

o TB screening

o Chronic care follow-ups

· Administer medications and treatments as ordered.

· Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency stabilization.

· Assist providers with:

o Sick call

o Diagnostic procedures

o Medical examinations

· Accurately document all care in the medical record.

· Maintain confidentiality of medical records in accordance with HIPAA.

· Participate in infection control, quality assurance, and safety programs.

Training Requirements

· Initial and annual training by a physician for health assessments.

· Annual training by a dentist for dental screening procedures.

· Emergency medical response and CPR.

· Sexual Abuse and Assault Prevention and Intervention

· Infection Control and Bloodborne Pathogen Precautions

· Suicide Prevention and Mental Health Crisis Recognition

Requirements

Qualifications

· Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.

· Minimum 1 year of nursing experience (correctional or acute care preferred).

· Current BLS/CPR certification.

· Ability to perform medical and dental screenings.

· Ability to pass:

o Background Investigation

o Drug Screening

· Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
