Registered Nurses provide quality nursing services by working with the patient care team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patients care and by providing a positive, supportive environment. The Registered Nurse is the front-line representative of the patient care team often serving as the intermediary between the patient and family, and the provider(s) and other care team members. This role is expected to: participate in performance improvement initiatives; maintain professional competence; develop others, uphold confidentiality, safety and professional standards.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
Assesses patients through history, the physical exam for initial and ongoing assessments. Develops individualized nursing care plans for patient assignments specific to the needs of the patient to direct the care of the patient.
Monitors and ensures quality patient care by following established policies within the scope of practice. Documents timely and maintains accurate record entries. Charts treatment and care as provided electronically. Adheres to security measures in regards to password protection. Logs off computer appropriately
Provides nursing care based on patient needs and in cooperation with a physician. Ensures the safety of patient care thru rounding and policy compliance. Administration and monitoring of all medication utilizing the bar scan for safe medication administration.
Supervise/delegate to staff to ensure the provision of safe patient care. Instructs patients and family members regarding treatments.
Applies Infection control practices by adhering to required standard precautions, hand hygiene, and isolation needs of patients.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Minimum Education:
Associates Degree - Nursing Required
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited School of Nursing Preferred
Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s):
Current American Heart Association, Basic Life Support (BLS).
Current American Heart Association, Advanced Life Support (ACLS).
ACLS must be obtained within 6 months of hire
Current Georgia Registered Nursing License (RN) or a qualifying multi-state compact license.
Required Minimum Experience:
1 year(s) or more of experience in bedside nursing to include patient care management and medication management
