Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our clients Medical-Surgical Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to individuals undergoing surgical procedures and medical treatments. This role requires strong clinical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with physicians and other healthcare professionals. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
Monitoring and Assessment: Monitor patients' vital signs, symptoms, and overall condition. Recognize and respond to changes in patient status.
Documentation: Accurately document patient information, including assessments, interventions, and outcomes. Maintain up-to-date and confidential medical records.
Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment plans, and post-discharge care.
Coordination of Care: Coordinate with other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive and continuous care. Facilitate effective communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers.
Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide appropriate interventions.
Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices and medical advancements.
Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in NY/Compact.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
