Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial Scope of Duties:
• Responsible for quality and financial performance outcomes.
• Develops and oversees budgets for all Hospice and Palliative clinical operations and aligned programs.
• Compliance Scope of Duties (in coordination with the Director of Quality and Compliance):
• Complies with applicable laws, regulations and accreditation standards.
• Develops and maintains policies and procedures to ensure adherence to best practices in professional and legal standards, quality of service, fiscal control, and customer relations.
• Maintains knowledge of CMS regulations and Conditions of Participation for Hospice and Palliative programs.
• Responsible for continual survey readiness.
• Utilizes industry resources on the state and national level to maintain up-to-date clinical, regulatory, industry, and information system knowledge and provides interpretation of knowledge and direction to staff.

Program Scope of Duties:
• Develops and monitors departmental KPls and addresses trend variances with actions items.
• Establishes patient care standards utilizing current evidence-based practice in the Hospice and Palliative industry.
• Refines and maintains efficient processes to ensure timely service delivery and balances effective patient care with efficiency goals.
• Responsible for new program initiatives including policies, procedures, business plans, and operations budgets. Collaborates with internal business experts to address program infrastructure. Partners with third party community members and organizations as needed to bring programs online and oversee the successful establishment of these programs (e.g., Hospice House, Palliative Care, etc.).
Talent Management Scope of Duties:
• Evaluates Hospice and Palliative Program resources and staffing to ensure clinical needs and objectives are met.
• Establishes performance standards and guides staff in meeting those standards.
• Identifies success pathways for staff to achieve performance goals.
• Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence. Leads positive change through process improvement with a focus on team engagement and morale.
• Establishes safe work practices and work environments.
Leadership Scope of Duties:
• Develops and maintains clear and thorough communication across and between programs.
• Partners with internal teams to develop strategies for program growth and improved market share.
• Participates in collective bargaining activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned by CEO.
Qualifications:
• Registered nurse and active MT license; master's degree preferred.
• A combination of 5-10 years of managerial/executive level experience, preferably in home health, hospice and Palliative care.
• Understanding of financial statements and financial analysis, business plans, etc.
• Proven working knowledge of healthcare quality improvement initiatives, data usage, metrics development and statistical method.
• Excellent skills in written and oral communication, supervision of staff, documentation requirements, service coordination, and case management.
• Computer proficiency and working knowledge of Microsoft programs required. Home care Home base preferred.
